The Great Courses has one simple request of us: "Surprise us, and beat the best response rate on our current catalog mailings." This is no small challenge, considering they mail millions of catalogs and conduct countless tests every year. They also make use of the best agencies in the country along with their own formidable in-house staff. The challenge is… with all of this marketing expertise, what hasn’t been tried?

Strategy/Results:

We love this type of challenge, so we put our unique talent pool to work. For the catalog creative tests, the result was a mix of innovative offers, new formats and unique creative directions that work. Using the client’s own marketing data, we helped The Great Courses look at their offers differently, and designed accordingly to engage prospects in surprising new ways. In fact, our most recent work has beat their long-standing catalog cover controls, and our test formats and offers have helped support additional growth. Most importantly, we’ve been asked back year after year to offer new and innovative creative solutions for their catalog DM program.
